BED MAKING

1.  PURPOSE OF BED MAKING

 A. On changing an unoccupied bed

• to promote the client's comfort

• to provide a clean near environment for the client

• to provide a smooth, wrinkle-free bed foundation, thus minimizing sources of skinirritation

B. On changing an occupied bed

• to conserve the client's energy and maintain current healthy status

• to promote the client's comfort

• to provide a clean near environment for the client

• to provide a smooth, wrinkle-free bed foundation, thus minimizing sources of skinirritation

2.WHEN IT HAPPEN

 bed making is conditional situation..when it need we do it

Conversation:

Situation:in the morning,2 nurse walk to maternity ward.

Nurse1 : assalamualaikm mrs.selviya..

Mrs.selvy:waalaikmslm..

Nurse1: im nurse windu nd she is my friend,nurse riska..

Nurse2:how are you mrs selvy..?did u sleep well last night?

mrs.selvy:alhmdlh im feel better..nd slept well last night

nurse1:alhmdlh..

nurse2:mrs selvy..your bed is dirty so we wanna making your bed..

          we are realy sorry because it will be little bit uncomfortable to you..

mrs: never mind nurse..i’ll follow ur instruction

nurse1:thankyu mrs.selvi

(nurse1 remove the blanket from the bed.than loosen the bedspread)

Nurse2: mrs.selvy,lean(or trun) to the right bedside please..

(support mrs.selvy with a pillow)

(roll the dirty bedspread as close to mrs.selvy body than cover the half of bed with a clean bedspread)

(nurse2 help mrs selvy to the nurse2 side )

Nurse1:mrs selvy,lean to my side please…

(than support her with a pillow)

(in the other  bedside,nurse2 pull the dirty bed sheet nd put it into plastic bag than cover another half of bed with the clean one)

(Nurse1 help mrs.selvy turn back to flat position)

Nurse1 : mrs selvy..lying on your back please..

(nurse 1 tuck the bedspread at the top and bottom of the bed)

(nurse2 tidy the 4 corner nd tidy the bedspreadon bedside)

(nurse1 cover the mrs.selvy’s body with a clean blanket)

Nurse: ok..mrs selvy..we’ve finished..thank 4 ur  cooperation
